FleetCor Technologies Investigation:
Wittels Law, P.C. is investigating numerous complaints from small and mid-sized businesses regarding FleetCor’s potentially fraudulent business practices. These businesses were promised savings on gas for their workforce vehicles through FleetCor’s fuel cards, which were advertised as having “no fees”, but after adopting its gas cards customers were inundated with hidden fees. These fees included:
late fees coupled with FleetCor’s payment system deliberately making it difficult or impossible to pay on time
a “high risk” fee imposed even on customers with good credit
a “minimum program administration fee” imposing a surcharge on virtually all fuel costs since 2014.
Upon investigation, evidence suggests that FleetCor Technologies deliberately targeted small and mid-sized businesses because they knew these companies had less leverage. Evidence also suggests telemarketers for the Company were instructed to lie in order to land new accounts, and FleetCor would wait several months after its customers opened these accounts before imposing its hidden fees in hopes that the fraudulent fees would go unnoticed.
Despite promises that FleetCor’s service was “essentially free money,” many customers have reported higher fuel costs since adopting the gas card. If you used FleetCor’s gas card in your business and suspect you were wrongly charged these or any other fees, we urge you to contact a class action attorney at Wittels Law, P.C. for a free case evaluation.
